The Co-operators
The Challenge
The key challenge of this project was managing a nine-floor, phased installation while keeping the workplace fully coordinated across all stages. This required maintaining consistent product standards - such as demountable walls and height-adjustable workstations - while varying finishes to give each floor a distinct identity.
Tight scheduling, detailed space planning, and continual communication were essential to align the work of multiple stakeholders, ensure smooth transitions between phases, and deliver a cohesive, high-quality environment with minimal disruption.

Flexibility, consistency, collaboration.
Designed to support a large, evolving organization, The Co-operators project was a nine-floor transformation focused on adaptability and long-term use. Working alongside PCL Construction Management Inc. and Holmes & Brackel, we helped deliver a cohesive workplace strategy that balanced efficiency with individuality - using the same core products across all floors while varying finishes to give each space its own character.
Designing for change
Teknion Altos demountable walls and Tek Vue office fronts formed the backbone of the project, allowing spaces to reconfigure as needs evolve. Over 1,500 lineal feet of architectural walls and 600 workstations were integrated with height-adjustable interiors, collaborative furniture, and soft seating to support focused work, movement, and connection.Through detailed space planning, phased scheduling, and continuous communication, the project came together floor by floor. The result is a bright, unified workplace that supports productivity, reflects The Co-operators’ values, and provides employees with modern, flexible environments built to grow with them.

Concept3 came in and installed everything very efficiently. To have all the workstations line up perfectly on a floor takes some work, but we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Their crew did awesome and would come with a solution ready in hand for any deficiencies they experienced.

Key Takeaways
This project reinforced the value of planning for adaptability at scale. Delivering a nine-floor, phased workplace required strong collaboration, consistent communication, and a flexible design strategy that could evolve without losing cohesion. By standardizing core products while varying finishes and layouts, the team successfully balanced efficiency with individuality—resulting in a future-ready workplace that supports both operational needs and employee experience.
