Ma Faamii - Métis Nation Saskatchewan
The Challenge
Creating a space that balances functionality with warmth, and practicality with cultural care. The hub needed to support a wide range of services and interactions—private conversations, family gatherings, system navigation, and moments of quiet reflection—while remaining flexible, durable, and welcoming. Every piece had to feel safe, approachable, and respectful, reflecting Métis values of family, connection, and dignity. Furniture choices were not simply about aesthetics, but about shaping an environment where citizens feel affirmed, supported, and truly at home.

Care, dignity, belonging.
Furnishing Ma Faamii required a thoughtful balance between cultural respect and everyday function. As a Métis Community Hub, the space needed to support diverse services—from private, sensitive conversations to shared moments of gathering—while feeling welcoming rather than institutional. The challenge was to select furniture that could adapt to many uses, ensure comfort and accessibility, and create an environment where citizens feel safe, seen, and supported.
Furniture with intention.
Each piece was chosen to reflect warmth, resilience, and flexibility. Comfortable seating, durable materials, and adaptable layouts work together to support both individual needs and collective care. The furniture fosters ease and connection while maintaining the privacy and functionality essential to the hub’s services. Together, these choices help shape a space that feels like family—one that honours Métis values and supports healing, connection, and community.

Métis Nation-Saskatchewan collaborated with C3BI on multiple interior projects for the Nation. They brought insightful guidance to enhance our citizens' and workforce's experiences, showcasing their expertise and collaborating with our team (and our crazy timelines). It's been a fantastic creative partnership. Maarsii Concept3 Business Interiors!

Project Summary
The Ma Faamii Métis Community Hub—meaning My Family in Michif—was thoughtfully designed as a culturally safe, welcoming space where Métis citizens can access coordinated social, economic, and mental health supports. As a one-stop service centre for Métis Nation–Saskatchewan, the hub supports needs assessment, system navigation, registry intake, and documentation assistance, all within an environment rooted in care, dignity, and belonging.
Concept3 Business Interiors Ltd. partnered closely with MN‑S to translate this vision into a functional and inviting interior. Through collaborative planning and a deep understanding of the hub’s purpose, the space was carefully furnished to support both private and communal moments while avoiding an institutional feel. Product selections from Teknion, Gus Modern, and Sit‑On‑It balanced durability, comfort, and contemporary design to create a flexible environment suited for a wide range of interactions.
The completed Ma Faamii space reflects MN‑S’s values of family, connection, and resilience. Warm furnishings, adaptable layouts, and thoughtful material choices come together to foster a sense of safety and welcome—supporting individuals and families as they connect to essential services and to one another. The result is a community hub that feels lived-in, respectful, and truly centred on the well-being of Métis citizens in Saskatoon.
